NEWPP Pkg 16 High Service Pump station

Northwest Water Purification Plant Expansion (NEWPP) is currently the largest, progressive design- build project of its kind in the United States. Shown in the picture is one of two high service pump stations. These pump stations will help aid is suppling and additional 320 mgd. The additional 320 mgd will increase the capacity of the pant to 400 mgd which can be expanded to 560 mgd in the future

The main header line for each high service pump station was 86″ diameter pipe. From each header, 5 different pipelines ran back the pumps. The header used several flexible couplings and had to have large sliding and fixed supports to handle the weight and the pressure. As a design build, changes to the design were made accommodate field and construction issues.
