The 2023 Patrick Kennedy Leadership Award was presented during the closing dinner at the 2023 Fall Meeting on September 14th. The awardhonors the late Pat Kennedy’s devotion to the industry and exemplary leadership both throughout the industry and with STI/SPFA.
This year’s recipient is Sean Rezin of USEMCO (Universal Sanitary Equipment Manufacturing Company). Sean graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He began working at USEMCO in 2014 as a Manufacturing Engineer, was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2017 and later became Executive Vice President in 2022.
Sean is an active participant in The Upper Mississippi Manufacturing Alliance, serving as Secretary on the Board of Directors since 2022.
Sean has been involved with STI/SPFA and was instrumental in establishing the Emerging Leaders Committee, which he also chairs. Through this committee, Sean has focused on promoting careers in welding and providing education opportunities for STI/SPFA members and other future leaders through webinars, roundtable discussions, and scholarships.
