ASME Report: 2025 – 4th Quarter
As I have mentioned in the 3rd quarter report, several errata have been issued for the 2025 Edition. You may download any or all of the errata files located on the ASME Committee page at the link below. You may also sign up for email notifications for additional errata and special notices using the email notification tool located at this site. Please take a few moments to review this page for errata that might be applicable to your applications.
I sent out an invitation to a free webinar discussing the similarities and differences associated with Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2. With the Common Rules associated with the 2025 Edition, I think this might be helpful to those that will use these rules. Navigating Division 2 is generally easier than Division 1 once you become more familiar with the format. If you have not taken advantage of this webinar, I would encourage you to do so at your earliest convenience.
I have also discussed BPV VIII Standards Committee has discussed making changes to ASME Section VIII Division 1 Code because the committee believes there is a market for a limitation of rules. BPV VIII is now working with the Technical Oversight Management Committee (TOMC) as well as the Board on Pressure Technology Codes and Standards to help set priorities and harmonize requirements. These considerations will be discussed in further detail at the spring meeting.
The ASME BPV VIII (Pressure Vessels) and BPV IX (Welding and Brazing) committees will meet in Miami, Florida the week of February 8, 2026. All are welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
