Chason Coelho, PhD, CSP is a Principal Scientist at Exponent and a human factors, safety, and risk management professional with experience in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, transportation, and oil and gas.
Dr. Coelho routinely addresses human performance in operations, maintenance, and emergency contexts, both proactively to help prevent adverse events in industrial facilities and reactively to determine the cause(s) of adverse events when they do occur.
In addition to his academic training in human behavior, he holds a certified safety professional (CSP) designation, has extensive practical experience as a volunteer firefighter, confined space rescuer, vehicle extrication technician, and emergency medical technician, and held a certified fire investigator (CFI) designation for several years.
