The Skyview elevated water storage tank in Perry County, Kentucky, is a critical infrastructure project supporting the Skyview Estates development, a high-ground community created as part of Eastern Kentucky’s long-term flood recovery efforts. Located outside the floodplain near Hazard, the tank was essential to providing reliable water service, pressure stabilization, and fire protection for new residential development serving displaced families and future growth.

As a result of a devasting flood event affecting the Hazard-area community, the tank builder was tasked to rapidly mobilize. Rising to the challenge the tank contractor, immediately accelerated engineering, procurement, and construction activities to enable the community’s relocation and recovery. Despite the compressed schedule and challenging site conditions, the elevated tank was completed in just four months from mobilization to readiness.

The welded steel structure was designed and constructed to meet all regulatory and operational requirements while prioritizing durability and long-term performance. Close coordination among the owner, engineer, and construction team enabled efficient problem-solving, strict quality control, and adherence to safety standards throughout execution.

This project exemplifies resilience, teamwork, and decisive execution under pressure, delivering critical public infrastructure on an accelerated schedule while supporting the safety, stability, and long-term vitality of the Skyview community.
