Ron Houston has dedicated his life to building up his family business and giving back to the surrounding communities.
The 2nd generation owner joined his father at The J. L. Houston Co. full time in 1967 after graduating college with a degree in engineering. Ron was instrumental in turning the company’s main production to steel storage tanks seeing the potential of the tank industry.
For over 30 years Ron has supported the Steel Tank Institute holding many positions within STI/SPFA. His vision for continued growth could be seen in the positions he held.
Ron served on the Board from 2000-2003. He served as Marketing Committee chair in 2003. From 2006-2011 he served as Finance Committee Chair. Ron also served on the Board of Directors from 2006-2011 as Treasurer.
