Travelers along the highway in Leland, MS will now be greeted by one of Leland’s most famous celebrities – Kermit the Frog.
Water pressure issues had been plaguing the town for years so when the City of Leland was awarded an infrastructure grant, city leaders knew that the best use of the grant funds would be to build a new water tower on the northeast side of town.
Now completed, the 135’ tall, 43’ diameter, 250,000 gallon Torus Bottom – Multi Column Elevated Tank, features the large, friendly green face of Kermit the Frog. Leland is the Birthplace of Jim Henson, Kermit the Frog’s creator. The unique logo was coordinated through Jim Henson’s family and Disney.
