The ASME Section VIII Standards Committee approved a project scope to Section VIII Division 1 in 2022 referred to as Project Reshape. This scope is intended to create an easier to use and understand code, provide stability within industry for use of Division 1, and provide a delivery method hat industry and users believe is fit-for-purpose.

The scope contains three activities which have been under consideration for several years.
