The STI/SPFA Legislative Fly-In is next month in the nation’s capital.  It is critical we speak directly to members of Congress about the importance of the steel fabrication industry and advocate for specific topics and policies that impact OUR future.

Senator Elizabeth Warren is credited with pointing out, “If you don’t have a seat at the table, you’re probably on the menu!” This is our chance to get a seat at the table.

Steve Borg, with Vogel Group, STI/SPFA’s legislative affairs advisor, will be arranging all our appointments with select influential Congressional members and we need your help with these visits. It’s especially important for you, as a constituent, to visit your elected members from your state and district.

Members of Congress are truly interested in hearing from their constituents about issues that are important to you, especially from employers/taxpayers. Most of our visits will be with legislative aids for each member who are assigned specific areas of responsibility.  You will find them to be receptive to our topics of interest.

We will have handouts and leave behind documents with talking points of our most important issues.  A “Know Before You Go” webinar will be held prior to the Fly-in where Steve will discuss:

  • Meeting preparation
  • How to talk with an elected official
  • Key issues to discuss
  • Follow-up after the fly-in

You must be registered for the STI/SPFA Legislative Fly-in to attend this webinar.

Please help with this important STI/SPFA event in D.C. Your voice is important and this event will allow you to be heard.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
