This 45′ DIA x 92’ -9 1/2″ standpipe with a capacity of 1.1 MG was built as part of an overall project to replace two existing concrete reservoirs and an elevated water storage tower.

The project was located next to a college and across the river from the Portland Airport, requiring special accommodations for building at such a height. Due to the height of the
standpipe it required a self-supporting roof which was specified to be seal welded in order to maintain longevity.

The top ring, roof and extensive platform were built on the ground and then lifted into place as one assembly with a combined weight of roughly 49,000 pounds.
