Contractor was responsible for the engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, startup/validation and commissioning of two (2) double-walled 50,000 MT ammonia storage tanks, ammonia refrigeration system, export loading pumps and other ancillaries for the project facility in Beaumont, TX. These identical double-walled tanks are 192’ diameter x 105’ high, dome roof with suspended insulated deck. With over 13,234,000 lbs (6,617 tons) of steel, most of the inner and outer tank components consisted of ASTM A516-70 carbon steel plate.

The Solvay HCL Solution Tank project overcame major safety challenges by constructing the 32-foot API 650 dome-roof tank outside the containment area. Built on a gravel pad, the tank required precise leveling of its grillage base, followed by installation of a Marflex PG70 rubber lining and painting. Once complete, the 31-ton structure was lifted by crane into the dike-enclosed containment zone, showcasing innovative planning and flawless execution under demanding conditions

The Oak Hill Water Tank in Danville, built to AWWA D-100 standards, measures 50 ft in diameter and 90 ft high, with a 1.3M-gallon capacity. Weighing 151 tons, it uses steel plates up to 0.559 inches thick. A 200-ton crane lifted the pre-assembled roof, and a custom ring wall foundation ensures stability. Protective coatings by Tnemec enhance durability, making this tank a key utility infrastructure achievement.
