This is a green field seismically resilient water treatment plant (WTP) built from the ground up capable of withstanding up to a 10.0 magnitude earthquake. The ground was solid volcanic rock, and all excavation was done by explosive charges. The job was a fast track with a two-year completion.

The Sheridan, Indiana project faced a particularly challenging winter schedule, as crews had to contend with significant weather adversities in addition to a very tight site. From an engineering perspective, it featured a uniquely designed flat roof, which is tailored to provide additional structural integrity.
Matt Prine, President of Indiana American Water, emphasized the importance of the project, stating, “Our responsibility to the community is to provide clean, safe and reliable water service, and on top of that, we are thinking about fire protection.”

This project consisted of several different size and wall thickness of pipe. Pipe sizes ranged from 123″ od to 48″ od. All the pipe was cement lined. There was very little coating on this project as a majority of the project was backfilled with flowable fill.
The pipeline line has several bends, elbows and outlets to divert from existing utilities and tie into the existing pipe already on the jobsite.

This consists of major tonnage of Steel fittings, couplings, flanges, support systems, Mechanical Joint Wall pipes, etc. This was strictly supplied & inspected under the AIS compliant act & will be supplying millions of gallons of potable water for the ever-growing city of Wichita.

Comprised of a stainless steel inner tank, and a carbon steel insulation containing outer vessel, this recently completed Cryogenic tank is the largest of it’s kind in the USA. Holding 22,300 m3 of Liquified Nitrogen at negative 320 degrees F, it is five times larger than the average LIN tank.

Each piece is a Square to Round, Offset Reducing 49 1/4″ OD down to 31 1/4″ OD 90 Degree (11 pc) Mitered Flanged Elbow, with a 26″ Saddled Outlet, also (6) 3″x3″x3/8″ Annular Stiffening Rings. We had to put a Blind Flange on, with angle iron welded to the inside of the Blind Flange and the saddle cut out welded to the bottom of the angle iron to create a smooth flow.
Each piece is rated for 200 PSI Test.
Coated with a C210 Liquid Epoxy Primer and Lined with 80 Mils of C222 Polyurethane.
