Ethanol Tanks – NuStar/Sunoco Selby Terminal

Built within the heart of an active terminal, these tanks represent resilience and innovation. They were erected to replace two tanks damaged several years ago, but their purpose goes far beyond restoration. Every detail of the design and permitting process was driven by one goal: ensuring decades of safe, reliable operation. Each tank, weighing over 1.27 million pounds, stands as a feat of engineering—complete with an internal floating roof and a robust sparger system to accommodate both renewable and traditional ethanol. Delivering this project required seamless collaboration across multiple disciplines—civil, mechanical, electrical, and specialty contractors—working in harmony to integrate fire protection, painting, and IFR installation.
