NW Irvinedale Drive – Elevated Water Storage Tank

This project was for the design, procurement, construction and procurement of (1) 2.5 MG CET. Ankeny is a fast growing city and residents did not feel like 2 logos on existing towers provided good representation, so the City of Ankeny elected to have 3 logos on this tower.

The project site was a challenge for several reasons. The site slope from north to south provided logistical challenges. The subdivision in close proximity also meant that special considerations had to be taken during the erection, blasting and painting of the tank. To alleviate the site sloping issues, the civil subcontractor was able to cut and install a retaining wall to allow for a more level final grade. The challenge of the nearby subdivision during erection and painting was mitigated as much as possible by erecting and painting as much of the tank at grade prior to hoisting the tank into its final position.
