This steel pipe fabrication project was designed to test pilot one of the first cutting edge water filtration technologies in the USA. Utilizing an electric grid to disinfect water for potable water distribution. This filtration design is much safer & a less costly alternative than chlorine.
Our company fabricated custom diameter pipe & various fittings for 54”, 48”, 42”, 36”, & 32” nominal pipe sizes. These various pipelines increased the filtered water capacity to 10 million more gallons a day. All steel pipe were built to meet every applicable standards & complied with the American Iron and Steel Mandate in the EPA’s state revolving funds programs. Over 80 tons of 3/8” & 1/4” wall steel pipe was rolled & welded. The steel pipe & fittings were AWWA C205 cement lined and epoxy coated on various pipe headers aligning with some existing filtration pipe. Our scope of work complied with all AWWA, ASTM, ASME, AIS, & NSF 61 standards.
