TN UST Proposed Rules for Motor Fuels Containing Greater Than 10% Ethanol

Chapter 1200-01-15 of the TN Underground Storage Tank program is being amended to add a new rule in 1200-01-15-.17 for motor fuels containing greater than 10% ethanol.  All motor fuel systems installed after July 24, 2007 that store ethanol blended fuels with greater than 10% content and that store denatured alcohols must be secondary contained.  Additional requirements are proposed for existing systems already storing such fuels.  Tank systems older than July 24, 2007 that are not already storing higher than 10% ethanol blends are prohibited from storing such higher ethanol blends. A hearing has been scheduled for January 20, 2011.
