NC Requires Testing of Emergency Shut-off Valve

The NC Fire Code requires a test of the emergency shut-off valve at least annually. Documentation of the test must be kept on site. Section 2206.7.4 of the NC code states, “Emergency shut-off valves shall be installed and maintained in accordance with the manufacruer’s instructions, tested at the time of installation and tested at least yearly thereafter in accordance with Section 2205.2.2.”
