IAPMO Seeks Proposals for 2015 Edition of Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement
Ontario, Calif. (May 5, 2014) – The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), publisher of the Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement (GPMCS), is calling for code proposals toward the 2015 edition of the GPMCS.
The code proposal form and proposal instructions may be found at www.iapmogreen.org. All proposals recommending new text, revised text or the deletion of text must be written in legislative format and clearly state the reason behind the recommendation.
All proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. Central time on June 18, 2014.
The GPMCS is the most comprehensive document ever created to standardize sustainable residential and commercial plumbing and mechanical systems. The 2012 edition is being revised as part of IAPMO’s commitment to ensuring plumbing and mechanical systems are safe and sustainable while keeping up with the rapid pace of emerging technology.
The GPMCS is not a “greener” version of IAPMO’s Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC®) or Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®), but rather a separate document establishing requirements for green building and water efficiency applicable to plumbing and mechanical systems. To purchase the 2012 edition of the GPMCS, visit www.iapmostore.org.
If you have questions about submitting a proposal for the GPMCS, please contact Maria Bazan at (708) 995-3007 or by email at maria.bazan@iapmo.org.
