The Fuels Institute has released its latest publication: “New Technology Adoption Curves: A Case Study on Delivering E25-Capable Vehicles to Market.” The report was written by Navigant Research.
This project was designed to determine when E25-capable vehicles would have to be introduced and how many would have to be sold to secure a 20% share of registered vehicles by 2025.
While the subject of this white paper is E25, the study itself is an assessment of what it will take for any new technology to secure a significant share of the U.S. light duty fleet in a short period of time.
The conclusion one can reach from reading the report is that it will take years and significant sales for a new vehicle technology to reach sizeable market share.
