STI/SPFA represents the steel fabrication industry.
As a champion of steel storage tanks, pipe, pressure vessels, and other steel plate fabricated products, this non-profit trade association promotes and unites the steel plate fabricated product industry. Through standards development, education, communication, advocacy, and more STI/SPFA promotes steel as the material of choice for an unmatched lifecycle in products used through many industries.
Member companies fabricate a variety of steel products including tanks, pipe, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and specialty products for the petrochemical, power generation, food, pharmaceutical, fuels, wastewater, and water transmission industries.
The Steel Tank Institute has been a creator of cutting-edge storage tank technology since 1916. Continued relationships with government and third-party agencies help STI/SPFA advocate for the highest standards. In 2004, the Steel Plate Fabricators Association joined with STI adding members in field erected storage tank, pipe, pressure vessel, and specialty product fabrication.
Today, STI/SPFA continues to be recognized as the best representative of the steel fabrication industry for leading tank technologies, storied history, education, advocacy, and industry networking.
